Cliff Hsui is currently the VP of Marketing & Technology for Alternative Rentals Digital Cinema, a camera equipment rentals company that services
commercial, episodic series and feature productions.
In the late 1990s, Cliff began his motion picture career working in the music video industry in Asia. In the early 2000s, Cliff spearheaded the Los Angeles camera division for a Canadian based
equipment rentals company, now known as Sim Digital, as their VP of Marketing & Technology.
With a background in both film and video production, Cliff designed training courses and workflows for crews that were abruptly forced to embrace 24P digital productions.
As technology advanced from tape to file based, Cliff designed and instructed one of the first national file-based camera training courses in the industry, the "RED ONE"
camera system training for IATSE Local 600. Cliff later co-authored, assisted in the development of, the "Data Handling" training for the camera union, also known as IATSE
Local 600 Digital Loader training.
In 2009, Cliff begun working with insurance companies in the film industry to overhaul their legacy film/tape coverage contracts to be relevant with current digital file based productions.
Cliff Hsui is an Associate Member of the ASC and remains an active member of IATSE Local 600 as a DIT. He is also a member of the subcommittee for digital training for
IATSE Local 600 and continues to consult to camera manufacturers, camera accessory manufacturers and various production companies.
Mike Jacks is an Online Finishing Editor and Colorist Assist at HTV illuminate. Soon after graduating from Chapman University in 2007, Mike landed a job
as an Assistant Editor on an independent feature film. As an assistant editor, Mike gained insightful experience and knowledge in the offline/online workflow process,
working closely with the Online Editor at the Post Group during the entire finishing process of the film. After the film was completed, Mike landed an entry level
position at HTV illuminate in the film scanning department. His technical expertise and troubleshooting skills propelled him forward in the company, opening
up the opportunity for him to start online and finishing films just 3 years after starting employment at the company. Mike's online finishing work covers a
wide range of productions, including commercials, tv shows, documentaries and feature work. Some of his work includes the feature films "Stuck In Love" , "Before We Go",
"The To Do List", "Brand: A Second Coming", "Jarhead 3: The Siege", & "High Strung". Mike continues to stay up to date with the latest toolsets and workflows of the
post production industry, enabling for a smooth transition between offline and online and on to final deliverables.
