Neil Carrey
Moderator
Neil Carrey, of Counsel at Baker Hostetler, has more than 49 years of experience as a tax, business, transactional, benefits, ERISA, exempt organization attorney, representing clients in various industries as well as governmental agencies and nonprofits. For most of his career, Neil has represented closely held businesses, governmental agencies and individuals in all aspects of their business, tax, employee benefits, and healthcare matters. He also has helped to form many exempt organizations. Neil regularly counsels clients on complex tax matters and on the structuring of complex business matters, negotiating business transactions and nonprofit organizations. He uses his accounting background extensively in assisting clients with their tax and business matters and has handled numerous tax and benefit audits. Neil is also highly involved in his community with civic and non-profit work.

C. Dennis Loomis, Partner at Baker Hostetler, has more than 25 years of experience representing (among others) major entertainment entities, manufacturers, consumer product companies, high tech concerns, Internet service providers, educational institutions, trade organizations, advertisers, artists, and entrepreneurs, both as a litigator and as a strategic advisor concerning intellectual property matters and complex business disputes and transactions.

In the litigation arena, Dennis' legal practice has focused primarily on sophisticated, complex litigation, primarily involving intellectual property and business torts, with additional experience in tax, regulatory, real estate, and antitrust matters. He has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in numerous jury and bench trials, in state and federal courts, on appeal, in arbitration, mediation, and other ADR tribunals.

Alan L. Friel, Partner at Baker Hostetler, focuses his practice on intellectual property transactions, regulatory schemes, and privacy and consumer protection law. Alan Friel is a thought leader regarding convergence legal issues -- the property, liability, and regulatory implications at the evolving intersections between media, marketing, technology, distribution, commerce, big data, and communication brought about by the ongoing digital revolution.

Alan has been contributing to the development of the legal and business paradigms of cyberspace since the days of CD-Rom and bulletin board services, and negotiated the first experimental Internet production agreements with traditional Hollywood talent unions -- SAG, DGA, and WGA -- in the 1990s.
