TANYA HART
Tanya Hart is a veteran host and commentator with a wide range
of broadcasting experience. Currently she is the Host of "Hollywood Live with
Tanya Hart," a syndicated program on American Urban Radio Networks' 500
stations. Her company also produces the daily AURN prep sheet, "Show Props"
for those same radio stations. Tanya is a producer and guest D.J. on "Live in
Hollywood" the syndicated television show which airs weekly in most of the
country. From 2001-2005 Hart hosted the daily syndicated radio feature ‘Hart
Moments' which her company also produced. From 1995-99 Tanya was
entertainment correspondent on the KACE-FM morning show in Los Angeles. Hart can
currently be seen in Paramount Studios' Oscar-nominated documentary feature film
"Tupac: Resurrection" and VH1's TV movie, "Play'd: A Hip Hop Story,"
both now on DVD. Tanya has served as host with Roger Ebert covering the Academy
Awards. For six years she served as correspondent and alternate host of E!
Entertainment's "The Gossip Show" which was seen worldwide in 140
countries. Tanya heads her own multimedia company based in Los Angeles, Tanya
Hart Communications, Inc. Tanya was also a regular on "The Geraldo Rivera
Show" for several seasons. In addition her company produced entertainment
news segments for the program. The company contracts with several media outlets
including ABC, NBC, "Inside Edition", "Celebrity Justice",
"Court TV", and other radio and online outlets. Hart was based at the Walt
Disney Studios lot from 1992-1995, where her company developed and produced
films, television programs, syndicated radio programs, and music with Boston
International Records and Hollywood Records.
From 1990-1992, Tanya served as host and senior producer of
Black Entertainment Television's (BET), "Live from LA with Tanya Hart,"
where she interviewed all of the major celebrities of our time in over three
hundred episodes. Tanya was also responsible for setting up BET's West Coast
production operations and launching its first show out of their Burbank Studios.
Prior to joining BET, Tanya spent eleven years with WBZ-TV,
the NBC affiliate in Boston, where she served as host and contributing producer
of "Coming Together," an Emmy-Award winning prime-time news magazine
series. She was also an announcer for WBZ's 5:30 PM newscast and hosted
syndicated specials.
Tanya has been recognized with numerous awards, including four
Emmys, eight Emmy nominations, and five medals from the International TV and
Film Festival of New York. In addition she has received the prestigious Peabody
and Ohio State Awards for her documentary films. Tanya has two of her
documentaries in the PBS Video catalogue where they have been best-sellers for
over ten years. Other of her award-winning documentaries are available from
Films for the Humanities and Sciences. Her undergraduate degree is from Michigan
State University's School of Communications where she started her radio career
on WKAR-FM. She has been recognized as an Outstanding Alumnus of MSU. She earned
a Masters Degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
