CAUCUS FOUNDATION PRESIDENT CHUCK FRIES CONNECTS...
by Chuck Fries
The Foundation continues to assist worthy students in completing their student thesis films. Our next Student Grant Application deadline is December 1, 2011, a bit later than prior years
but more workable for the students. Visit our website, www.caucusfoundation.org for details.
We devote considerable resources to diversifying the next generation of creative professionals in the Entertainment Industry through:
- The Caucus Foundation Grant Program
- The Caucus Foundation Internship Program
- CFAN (Caucus Foundation Alumni Network), made up of students who have been given a Caucus Foundation grant to complete their thesis film,
was organized a few years ago and has become a networking entity for them
- CFAN's "Dinner for Five"
- Writers Program established by CFAN
- Directing Program, also established by CFAN
All are integral parts of our mission -- to increase diversity behind the camera.
The Caucus Foundation is launching their annual fundraising program, seeking companies and/or individuals for a Named Fund.

And, for the first time has entered into an agreement with CharityBuzz, an online auction site for the purchasing of our auction "experience" items.
To date we have secured America's Funniest Home Videos VIP Package, a Walk-On with NCIS, Brunch with reality TV Producer and Author
Troy Devolld at the Polo Lounge In Beverly Hills, lunches with 30 Rock's Emmy Award winning writer, Matt Hubbard, actress Sonya Eddy, General Hospital's Epiphany
Johnson, Legendary "Jaws" Screenwriter Carl Gottlieb, Basketball Wives / Basketball Wives LA Executive Producer Alex Demyanenko,
Television Literary Agent Beth Bohn, dinner and a movie with Film Critic and Historian Leonard Maltin. Be sure to check out CharityBuzz now to purchase these items.
We will once again be presenting our Gold Circle Awards at the annual Awards Dinner on December 4, 2011, at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Mike Dallatorre of Panavision will
present a $60,000 camera package, and Jim Hardy of HTV/illuminate will offer a $20,000 hi-def post-production package to the second-place award winner. These
winners also receive a cash award.
The Foundation's main objective is still the conferring of student film grants, and if anyone is interested in providing a Named Fund, please contact me at
caucusfoundation@aol.com and we will arrange something in your name. Although Named Funds are
generally $25,000, I'm sure we can arrange for something manageable for you.
